Economics Program

The Economics Program aims to comprehensively analyze the structural dynamics of the Turkish economy and the elements that shape these dynamics. The focus of the program studies, which aim to deeply examine the basic factors that guide Türkiye’s economic growth and development process and the challenges encountered in this process, is economic growth and sustainable development strategies. For this purpose, the effectiveness of monetary and fiscal policies, the structural transformation of the labor market, the elimination of inequalities in income distribution, the economic and social effects of climate change and the development processes of the digital economy constitute the priority areas of work.

The main objective of the program is to develop a critical and strategic perspective in order to increase the resilience of the economy against the effects of climate change and economic fluctuations, to protect the economic rights of individuals, and to make the best use of the opportunities offered by the digital economy. In this context, it aims to contribute to the creation of more effective and sustainable economic policies by providing innovative perspectives for policy makers, academics and relevant stakeholders.

The program, which will conduct strategic research in line with the goal of increasing economic development and social welfare that will support the sustainability of the Turkish economy, grounds on producing independent, social and scientifically based ideas to support this target. The program organizes extensive field studies, scientific publications, workshops, panels and conferences in order to put forward policy recommendations. In this context, it aims to provide concrete and applicable solutions by taking into account such economic factors as economic growth, resource allocation, income distribution and environmental sustainability.
